Client case study
Jeff Nowak
Upon launching Cobalt Settlements, LLC in 2014, Jeff Nowak began a search for the right banking partner for his boutique title and escrow company. Today, Nowak said he couldn’t have found a better fit for his business than MVB Bank.
“I grew up in a small farm town in mid-Michigan where you know everybody, and you had conversations with your banker, pharmacist, and anyone you did business with,” said Nowak, Cobalt’s founder and managing attorney. “As a result, relationships with my business partners are very important to me.”
Nowak began working with MVB for his escrow and business accounts in late 2016. Future conversations with another member of Team MVB persuaded Nowak to move his escrow and business banking to the bank, where Sheri Van Vranken and Garret Reed help Cobalt continue to prosper.
“My relationship with MVB goes beyond the vendor/vendee paradigm,” Nowak said. “They bring tremendous value, and we have a true business partnership that is vested in mutual success.”
When thinking of what makes MVB different in the financial marketplace, Nowak recalled the ubiquitous theme song to the 1980s sitcom “Cheers.”
“MVB is somewhere you want to go, where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came,” he said. “They are the consummate professionals who go above and beyond, who do business in a way that makes it clear they remember what it is like to be customers.
“I trust the people, I trust the process, and I trust the platform,” Nowak continued. “They provide me with the confidence that the money to which I am entrusted is safe and the process will work for me. That allows me to focus on leading my team and growing my business.”
